A. INFOCOM 2008 NSF Travel Grant Opportunity for US-Based Students

The IEEE INFOCOM 2008 executive committee is pleased to announce the availability of Student Travel Grants, sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Applications are invited from qualified graduate students studying in accredited U.S. institutions.  Students will be reimbursed (based on the valid receipts) for their expenses after the conference is over. Only airfare on a US-based carrier will be reimbursed!

An application for a student travel award will consist of:

1. A letter from the student, including paper title if the paper has been accepted for INFOCOM 2008.

2. The student's vita.

3. A supporting letter from the student's graduate advisor.

The letter from the student should include:

1.A brief summary of research interests and accomplishments to date

2.A description of areas reflected in the INFOCOM 2008 program that would impact the student's research

3.A statement about why the conference attendance is important to the student.

The advisor's recommendation letter for the student should include:

1.Confirmation that the student is a bona fide Ph.D. or M.S. candidate in a good academic standing.

2.The suitability of the INFOCOM 2008 program material to the student's research area.

3.Ways this particular student would benefit from attendance at the conference.

4.The strengths and potential contributions of the student.

Applicants should upload their applications through EDAS (after login to EDAS, click on the "Travel Grants" tab). Applicants should send their application materials as a single PDF file following the instructions in the Travel Grants section on INFOCOM 2008 site.

Application deadline: January 31, 2008

Notification deadline: February 15, 2008

Awardee acceptance deadline: February 28, 2008


B. Travel Grants Sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society

The IEEE INFOCOM 2008 executive committee is pleased to announce the availability of Student Travel Grants, sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society. Applications are invited from qualified full-time engineering graduate students.

To qualify you must:

1.Be a valid member of the COMSOC at the time of application.

2.Live outside the Regions where this conference will take place (Regions 1-6), that is, residents and students in the USA are not eligible. We have changed the ComSoc policy this year that separates Canadian students from U.S. students, so they would be eligible for ComSoc grants to Phoenix.

3.Be an author who will present an accepted paper at this Conference.

4.Not have received a similar grant in the past 12 months.

5.Provide all of the information below.

The IEEE INFOCOM 2008 executive committee is pleased to announce the availability of Travel Grants, sponsored by the CONTENT Network of Excellence. Applications are invited from qualified applicants from the Universities and Research Centers associated with CONTENT.

To qualify you must:

1.Be a member of a CONTENT University and/or Research Center at the time of application. Please refer to the table below for a list of qualifying institutions.

1.Confirmation that the applicant is a bona fide member of the Univesity.

2.The suitability of the INFOCOM 2008 program material to the applicant's research area.

3.Ways this particular applicant would benefit from attendance at the conference.

4.The strengths and potential contributions of the applicant.
